Virtual common project problems

Manufacturing at our organization has moved to overseas 20 years back for project cost reduction and since then we are having virtual teams working from Hong Kong and Taiwan. We consistently have hard time in achieving quality for all projects as supply is not as expected due to overseas branch finds hard to find right talents and interests, there is feedback issues and as new member in team requires heavy coaching. One of the problem that people tend to leave organization due to overworked and stressed out feel as it is found most in Asian culture. Our organization is setting up SMART goals [PMI, Riley, Marcia, Oct 2008] to ensure every one is on same page, as hardest part of virtual team is lack of face to face everyday communication which makes virtual employees feel isolated.[FORBES, Sebastian Bailey] writes “It’s difficult for virtual team members to see how their work fits into the big picture, so they become despondent and demotivated.” Its true conflict is part of every team but focusing on project tasks and goals can build productive team.So major project problems are, lack of communication [verbal], lack of social integration between teams, Cultural clashes, employees loosing interest and trust.
